Roof Bench

One day, while walking around the neighborhood,
I spotted a carpenter talking a contented rest on a rooftop.
This sight inspired in me the idea of a bench in the shape of a roof.

 

For some reason, the Japanese wood for  “roof ” (yane)
contains the character “根” (ne), meaning “root “.
The term is allegedly derived from the form of thatched roofs of pit dwelling houses.
I imagined how roofs in ancient times reached
so far down to the ground that they looked to people like roots.
When considering that the Roof Bench was the root of tree,
I began to see a tree standing on top of it.
